The Vineyard
The fruit for this Syrah comes from Hanna’s Bismark Mountain Vineyard, located in the Mayacamas Range. Two blocks are planted to Syrah. Block 22 sits at the vineyard’s highest point, while Block 12 is in a more protected ravine just below. Together they make 4.2 acres. Both blocks were planted in 1993 on a vertical trellis with 9 by 4 spacing.

Vintage Notes
The grapes were crushed, cold soaked and inoculated, then pressed before dryness. The wine was aged in 10% new tight grain burgundy barrels and 90% once- used Burgundy barrels. This Syrah was left unfined, and filtered once prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes
A gorgeous nose of herbs, bittersweet chocolate, black cherries and pepper, this mouth filling Syrah is full of concentrated flavor and substantial tannins. Enjoy it with roast meats or hearty stews.
